Why Joe Cocker Should Be A Hall of Famer!

Yes, I am speaking loudly for Joe Cocker to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Right now! The reasons are many and most are very clear. If you have seen the Woodstock movie, Joe’s performance of “With a Little Help from my Friends” is reason enough!

Joe has long been considered one of the finest interpreters of other people’s songs. I saw Dave Mason recently, and the writer of “Feelin Alright” said Joe Cocker made Dave’s song his very own and is considered the penultimate version of this song.

Joe was a humble and kind guy, and experienced many ups and downs in his life and career. Whenever he was considered out, he came roaring back again. The best source on Joe’s life and career is “Mad Dog with Soul” on Netflix. This is a great documentary and makes you feel like you know Joe just a little better!

But most of the reasons for Joe belonging in the Hall of Fame lies in the music. Attached below is a Spotify playlist that offers a cross section of many of my favorites — Hope you enjoy them!
