Spooky Tooth is unquestionably one of the all time favorite bands of my wife and I, and we still actively listen to them all the time.

This band came together in 1968 and dealt with an everchanging parade of band members during their existence. Some of these included Gary Wright (“Dream Weaver” fame), Luther Grosvenor (AKA Ariel Bender in Mott The Hoople), Mike Harrison, Greg Ridley (Humble Pie), Mike Kellie, The Grease Band (Joe Cocker’s Band), and Mick Jones (Foreigner).

The most classic release was Spooky Two recorded in 1969, and contains many of my favorites (which you can see on the attached playlist). This album’s sound stands up even 50 years later, and is still available for streaming.

The best of rest of their releases are, “Last Puff”, “You Broke My Heart So I Broke Your Jaw”, “Witness”, and “Cross Purpose” and most are still available for streaming. The lead singer for most of the band’s existence was Mike Harrison, who also released several solo albums of which his first, “Mike Harrison” is the best, and carries on the Spooky Tooth sound. Unfortunately, this first album is not readily available so let me know and I will record it for you on a cd — it’s worth it!

Hopefully, you are intrigued by Spooky Tooth and give them a try. Check out the attached playlist and find your new favorite!
